- Always wash your hands with soap and water, then dry them with a lint-free towel before handling your contacts.
- Store lenses in the proper lens storage case and replace your case at least every 3 months.
- Use fresh solution to clean and store your contact lenses. Never reuse old solution or add new solution to old solution.
- Rinse the contact lens case with fresh solution (NOT water). Then leave the empty case open to air dry.
- During cleaning, rub your contact lenses with your fingers, then rinse the lenses with solution before soaking them (even if your solution is of the “no-rub” variety).
- Always remember that your contacts come FIRST when it comes to makeup. Put your contacts in first (before applying makeup) and take your contacts out first (before removing your makeup).
- Do not transfer contact lens solution into smaller travel-size containers. This can affect the sterility of the solution.
- Do not allow the tip of the solution bottle to come in contact with any surface, and keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
- Minimize contact with water. This includes removing lenses before going swimming or in a hot tub.
- Do not wear your contact lenses if you notice any redness, irritation, light sensitivity, decreased vision, or discharge. If any of these symptoms occur, contact your optometrist immediately.
